The Basilica of St. Paul is a religious sponsor trustee for Family Renew Community. The parish was a founding member of the organization and has supported its mission since 1989 through generous contributions from our parishioners. A member of the Basilica parish is appointed by the pastor to serve on the Board of Directors for the Family Renew Community.

Family Renew Community is an ecumenical, Judeo-Christian undertaking, by numerous religious organizations of our area. All of the religious groups are financial sponsors, and comprise the Directorship of Family Renew Community, a non-profit organization.

Family Renew Community is a private, non-profit agency that provides shelter to homeless families with children – families that have encountered difficult times and are in crisis. There are fourteen apartments for single-parent and two-parent families at 810 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill; eleven apartments for single mothers with children at 105 South Street, Daytona Beach; and seven apartments for single-parent and two-parent families at 259 W. Voorhis Avenue, DeLand.

Sources of Funding for FRC not only come from churches but also from Governmental grants and fundraising. One continuing source of income and provisions for the family is the Secret Attic Stores. The Secret Attic Thrift Stores in Ormond Beach (Granada Plaza at A1A and Ormond Oaks Plaza on S. Yonge) help raise money for the services that we provide for our clients. Merchandise donations furnish all 32 apartments and our resident families receive complimentary referrals to the stores for clothing needs.
